Job summary

Elanco is hiring a Lead Engineer - Software Engineering to join a globally collaborative team focused on building scalable software and platform solutions for animal health. You will contribute to modernizing products while balancing quality, speed, and security across the engineering lifecycle.

You will work with cloud-native patterns, API-first integrations, and a DevSecOps mindset, applying secure coding practices and participating in innovation initiatives and engineering community

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with modern application architecture methodologies (SOA, API-Centric Design, Twelve-Factor App, FAIR).
• 5+ years of Cloud Native design patterns, with preference for Azure/Google Cloud.
• 5+ years delivering digital solutions with a product mindset using Agile/CCPM.
• 5+ years in a DevSecOps culture, including CI/CD and TDD practices.
• Experience with software deployment including Kubernetes.
• Hands-on software engineering with web tech (TypeScript/JavaScript/Node/Next.js/React).
• Experience supporting digital platforms, integrations, release management, and data obfuscation.
• Experience scaling an API-Ecosystem with API-First patterns.
• Experience with authentication/authorization protocols.
• Strong communication skills across IT and third parties.
• Experience in complex, diverse landscapes.

Responsibilities

• Software & Platform Solutions Development across the engineering organization.
• Product Build, Run & Modernization including event reporting and custom-engineered solutions.
• Collaborate with team members, Platform Engineering, and engineers to back backlog sizing and approaches.
• Apply secure coding practices, embedding security, privacy, and QA across digital solutions.
• Engage in Innovation & Engineering Community activities, rotations, and knowledge sharing.
