The team develops software that operates in demanding, real-world environments where reliability, security, and data sovereignty are critical. Their platform helps defence users make sense of data from multiple sources while running entirely on customer-controlled infrastructure.

The engineering team is small and senior, with a strong culture of technical ownership. Engineers work across the system, engage directly with customers, and see their software deployed in operational environments.

The role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the core engineering team.

This is a hands‑on engineering role with significant ownership. You will design, build, and ship production systems, work across different parts of the technical stack, and support deployments and trials alongside customers and partners.

The company's primary engineering language is Rust, but prior Rust experience is not essential. Strong engineers coming from C, C++, or another systems programming background are encouraged to apply.

You will also spend time in customer environments, often working through unfamiliar technical constraints and helping ensure systems operate reliably outside a conventional software development environment.

Particularly relevant experience

• Professional experience with Rust.

• Experience in defence, national security, aerospace, or another mission‑critical technical environment.
• Previous forward‑deployed, field engineering, or customer‑facing engineering experience.
• Experience deploying software into constrained, offline, on‑premise, or security‑sensitive environments.
• Experience building distributed systems, infrastructure, networking, or systems‑level software.

How the team works

Engineers are expected to understand the broader system. Reliability and software quality are shared responsibilities across the team.

The company operates a hybrid/remote model and is open to candidates based in the UK or EU. The team meets regularly in person, and engineers travel to customer sites when deployments or trials require it.
