Job summary

AJ Bell is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Operational and Regulatory Technology team. You will work in a cross-functional group on a broad technology stack, guiding the team to deliver high-quality services and APIs.

The role requires strong experience with C#, .NET Core, Mongo/SQL, and modern web frontends (Angular/React/Vue). You will operate within agile teams, contribute to CI/CD and cloud deployments on AWS, and influence architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial experience developing services and APIs with C#, .NET Core, Mongo and/or SQL.
• Experience in developing HTTP-based APIs and RESTful services with JSON.
• Strong web development background with Angular/React/VueJs.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and TDD practices.
• Cloud-based solutions on AWS with containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience with EF Core and messaging systems (RabbitMQ/SQS).
• Familiarity with performance optimization of web pages and APIs.
• Experience in finance or e-commerce domains is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Guide and mentor the team to design and deliver high quality products.
• Collaborate to design and deliver scalable, reliable services and APIs.
• Consider architectural and non-functional requirements in delivery.
• Develop scalable, highly available middle-tier components.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Contribute to cloud-native deployments on AWS and container orchestration.
• Play a key role in Agile/Scrum/SAFe practices.
