Job summary

Darktrace is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our R&D teams in Cambridge, developing and enhancing products with a modern tech stack. The role is hybrid, requiring attendance in the Cambridge office 2 days a week.

You will lead projects, collaborate across teams, review code, and contribute to tests, docs, and developer enablement while advancing our cyber-security platform and malware forensics capabilities.

Qualifications

• Proficient in modern C++ development for macOS.
• Experience with Swift or willingness to deepen expertise.
• Familiarity with Unix/macOS development environments.
• Able to work autonomously and collaborate in a team.
• Interest or knowledge in cyber-security and malware forensics.
• Experience with Docker and cloud computing environments.

Responsibilities

• Build, design, and maintain the macOS codebase using C++ and Swift.
• Lead and contribute to projects from rapid prototyping to structured development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain engineering excellence.
• Write and maintain tests, docs, and developer enablement material.
• Advance the company’s methodology for defending against unknown cyber-attacks.
• Foster innovation and mentor team members across programming languages.
