Job summary

Catapult is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and evolve our web-based football analytics platform. You will work across backend services and frontend UX/UI to deliver data-driven features for professional teams.

Based in London, you will own features from design through production, collaborate with Product and other engineering teams, and help raise code quality, architecture, and development practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Java / Spring Boot and Angular or React.
• Experience with PostgreSQL including data modelling and performance optimization.
• Experience with API design, distributed systems, and client-server architectures.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD and release automation.
• Ability to take ownership of features from architecture and implementation through to production.
• Knowledge of Capacitor, Electron, RxDB, or offline-capable app development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute substantially to the design, implementation and maintenance of efficient, reusable and reliable code.
• Help drive code quality, organisation and best practices throughout the development process.
• Actively participate in team engineering processes, design meetings and code reviews.
• Contribute to our test strategy by helping define test cases and driving automation.
• Bring a growth mindset and take ownership of tasks in a collaborative environment.
