Job summary

Caspian One is seeking software engineers to join a new cross-functional team building an internal developer platform for a major financial institution. The role focuses on shaping architecture, tooling, workflows and usability from day one, with strong autonomy in a hybrid Sheffield setting.

You'll work across Java/Kotlin/Node.js/React on cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), tackling unfamiliar technical challenges and delivering self-service experiences that reduce friction for thousands of developers.

Responsibilities

• Build services and tools that improve the software delivery experience for engineers across the organisation.
• Identify pain points in developer journeys and drive solutions from concept through to implementation.
• Improve and evolve internal platforms and user interfaces.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to understand challenges and remove barriers to productivity.
• Create intuitive, self-service experiences that minimise manual intervention.
• Influence technical direction, platform usability and engineering best practice.
• Be a self-starter in a small, high-impact team with significant autonomy.
