The Product

OCI Functions is a fully managed, multi-tenant, highly scalable, on-demand, Functions-as-a-Service platform, deployed in dozens of commercial, government and private data centres around the world. The Functions deployment model supports a wide variety of use cases. OCI Functions is rapidly becoming the platform of choice for Oracle SaaS workloads, supports the API Gateway for customer applications, and Data Science processing use cases.

The Positions

Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking engineers with varying levels of experience to expand and grow our team. Entry-level candidates should have a passion for learning, while experienced candidates should possess diverse skills in programming, networking, storage, internet protocols, and operating systems. Engineers at any level can make significant technical and business impacts.

As part of our diverse team, you will solve and design solutions for distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, and highly available services.

The Responsibilities

On a typical day, you will work as part of a small, focused, agile team, engaging in tasks such as:

• Writing backend code in Java, Python, Go, or other modern languages.
• Working with containerization and virtualization technologies like Docker, containerd, and Kubernetes.
• Deploying and operating software in data-centres worldwide.
• Analyzing, diagnosing, and debugging issues across the stack.
• Maintaining and improving existing systems, focusing on performance and operational efficiency.
• Building tooling and automation to scale operations.

You may also:

• Discuss technical solutions and build consensus among teams.
• Design and implement new features or services for customers.

All engineers participate in operating and supporting the product in production, including a 12x7 on-call PagerDuty rotation, typically every 5-7 weeks depending on team size.
