Job summary

Volant Autonomy in Bath seeks a Senior Software Engineer to help build and deploy airspace management and autonomy systems for uncrewed aviation. You will influence architecture and delivery, integrating Volant technology with customers and partners across the UK and internationally.

Working with Python and TypeScript, you’ll deploy to on‑prem and AWS, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and mentor junior engineers in a fast‑paced, high‑trust environment that values open collaboration and decisive

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience integrating software across multiple projects.
• Experience deploying to on-prem and cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Strong knowledge of APIs, protocols and data formats.
• Ability to design and implement integration and system testing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure successful integration of Volant Autonomy technology with customers and partners.
• Attend client sites for integration work (~2 days/month).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automation and testing.
• Debug and resolve technical issues across platforms.
• Collaborate to identify dependencies, manage deadlines, and prioritise work.
