Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Team: Graphics

Location: SI HQ, Here East, London / Remote

Reporting to: Lead Software Engineer (Graphics)

Sports Interactive is the gaming studio behind Football Manager.

Founded in 1994, SI became a wholly owned subsidiary of SEGA Europe in 2006. Based at Here East in Stratford, East London, our team continues to grow as we bring our titles to a global audience across various platforms.

We seek passionate individuals eager to realize their potential and contribute to our growth.

Position Overview

We aim to continually enhance the visual quality and performance of Football Manager. We are looking for an experienced graphics software engineer to join our team, collaborating closely with the Graphics Team and Art Department to implement features across all supported platforms, primarily using Unity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain rendering features such as character rendering, lighting, post-processing, and materials.
  • Develop and optimize shaders and rendering code in Unity for multiple platforms.
  • Profile and optimize rendering performance and memory usage.
  • Build tools to improve artist workflows.
  • Implement automated tests and asset validation tools.
  • Debug rendering issues and ensure high visual fidelity within performance constraints.
  • Collaborate with artists and engineers on scalable rendering solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Extensive experience with C# and Unity, including shipping titles on multiple platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Unity URP, Shader Graph, HLSL, and shader optimization.
  • Understanding of GPU architectures, rendering techniques, and performance profiling tools.
  • Deep knowledge of 3D math, real-time lighting, shadows, and PBR.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working with cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience with multiple rendering pipelines, including HDRP, and low-level graphics APIs.
