Job summary

CFC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable software solutions within our Technology team in London. You will translate complex requirements into robust, secure systems and contribute to architectural direction while mentoring peers.

You'll work with Azure, .NET, containers and CI/CD to deliver products that support underwriters, brokers and clients, shaping the future of our technology platforms in a product-led environment.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with C#/.NET and OO design principles.
• Experience designing and building distributed systems, APIs and scalable applications.
• Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Cloud-native development, ideally within Azure.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of software architecture and secure development practices.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Exposure to frontend frameworks such as Angular.

• Design, build and maintain scalable, secure and high-performing software solutions.
• Collaborate with product, delivery and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and ongoing evolution of our technology platforms.
• Develop clean, well-tested and maintainable code aligned with engineering standards.
• Conduct code reviews and support a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• Mentor and support other engineers, sharing knowledge and helping develop team capability.
• Champion modern engineering practices including automated testing, CI/CD and DevOps.
• Design and support APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Ensure solutions are resilient, secure and aligned with organisational standards and controls.
