Job summary

Northrop Grumman UK is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain the critical infrastructure powering our services. You’ll work on a mix of exciting, complex projects within a mission space, delivering elegant, stable solutions with real‑world impact.

You’ll provide technical leadership, guiding your team through design, implementation and delivery challenges to meet customer needs while fostering growth and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience as a software developer with backend Java focus (Spring Boot, Maven).
• Proven ability to design, develop and deploy scalable backend systems.
• Familiar with CI/CD, containerisation and cloud platforms in an agile setting.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the team’s deliverables with the Scrum Master.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with product teams, front-end engineers and QA.
• Mentor and guide junior developers to grow team capability.
