Job summary

Apolitical is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in London. You will own complex features across front end and back end, collaborating with Product, Design and government partners to deliver high-impact software.

You will work in a hybrid setup (London office two days per week) and contribute to AI-enabled platform development, with a focus on reliability, architecture, and scalable design.

Qualifications

• Experience building production software across front end and back end with TypeScript, React and Node.js.
• Experience with NextJS or NestJS in production.
• Experience building features that use large language models or AI services.
• Experience with testing practices such as TDD or testing in production.

Responsibilities

• Build product features end to end across the front end and back end.
• Shape what we build with Product, Design and government partners to turn user needs into well-scoped work.
• Design systems and architecture and lead the technical design of features.
• Build AI into our products with evaluation and safeguards.
• Keep our software reliable through testing, monitoring and production support.
• Raise engineering standards and mentor other engineers.
