Senior Software Engineer
Node / TypeScript – Strong AWS – Docker
£75-85K per annum
Hybrid – Bristol (Max 1 or 2 days per month in Central Bristol office)

The Role:
We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer who’s excited not onlyby shipping top-quality platform features but also rolling uptheir sleeves to improve the infrastructure that powers themagic. This unique role blends application development withinfrastructure expertise – ideal for someone who enjoys beingthe technical bridge between dev and ops.
You’ll be part of the businesses new Platform Team focused on buildingsmarter infrastructure across AWS, improving deploymentpipelines, scaling containerised services (ECS), and supportingthe engineering team with fast and repeatable environments.
This is not a traditional DevOps role – you’ll ship user-facingfeatures and shape system architecture. You’ll collaborateclosely with product-focused teams while being the go-toperson for infrastructure questions.
We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer who also has practical infrastructure and devops experience – someone who wearsboth hats comfortably.
Your Responsibilities:
– Build and maintain fullstack features acrossAngular/Node.js with MongoDB
– Lead the infrastructure evolution – improving AWSarchitecture (incl. ECS, EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch)
– Own and implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraformpreferred)
– Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines to optimisedeployment workflows
– Develop backend services with observability, traceability,and scalability in mind
– Design efficient, secure and reliable infrastructurepatterns for our cloud-native platform
– Help define best practices across DevOps, cloud-nativearchitecture, and developer environments
– Contribute to containerisation and compute costoptimisation
– Coach and support team members on cloud-nativedevelopment principles
– Take part in shared on-call rotations and incidentresponse improvements
What We’re Looking For:
– Solid experience across fullstack engineering
– Demonstrated AWS infrastructure ownership (especially ECS, EC2, S3, Lambda)
– Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred)
– Docker
– CI/CD configuration management
– Ability to build scalable backend services (Node.js)
– Understand database and compute scalability within cloud environments, especially withMongoDB
– Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Ideal Experience needed:
– 5+ years in Fullstack Engineering roles, ideally in SaaS or high-growth environment
– 2+ years hands-on experience owning and maintaining cloud infrastructure
– Led or contributed to infrastructure initiatives as a developer (not just a DevOpsspecialist)
– Experience deploying and managing containerised applications (e.g., ECS, DockerCompose)
Bonus Points:
– Metrics, tracing and log aggregation experience
– Familiarity with cost management or edge-optimisedmicroservices
– Experience with TailwindCSS is always a plus!
****KEY SUMMARY****:
– This role is great for a Fullstack Engineer who enjoys devops work but does not want tobe siloed into ops alone.
– We do not want a pure DevOps/Infra person – must be fullstack with an infra affinity.
– Strong communication and facilitation skills are a must.
