You will work at the intersection of software engineering and digital hardware, focusing on timing constraints and design analysis, with a strong emphasis on maintainable software and scalable tooling.
Responsibilities include delivering robust workflows, analyzing timing data, and collaborating with silicon engineers.
Help shape how the next generation of Arm chips are built!
TheSolutions Engineeringgroup at Arm is looking for an experiencedSenior Software Engineerto join ourUK methodology team, developing internal tools and methodologies that help engineers build and optimize complex silicon.
As Arm builds on the success of the recently released AGI CPU in production silicon, we are investing in software and automation that can make increasingly sophisticated chip development faster and more effective. This is an opportunity to apply strong software engineering skills to challenging problems with a direct impact on future Arm silicon!
The role sits at the intersection of software engineering and digital hardware design, with a particular focus ontiming constraints, design analysis and silicon implementation methodology. The team collaborates with experienced silicon engineers across Solutions Engineering, turning complex domain problems into robust, maintainable software.
Deep VLSI experience is not essential. We are primarily looking for an excellent software engineer who is curious about digital hardware and interested in learning how modern processors and SoCs are designed.
Our team has a collaborative engineering culture built around technical curiosity, pragmatic solutions and constructive challenge.
The role involves designing and maintaining software used within Arm's silicon development flows, developing algorithms to analyze and optimize design data, and integrating with EDA tools and compute infrastructure.
As a senior engineer, you'll also help set technical direction and maintain a high standard of software quality through architecture discussions and effective code review.
Key responsibilities include:
Relevant experience might include some of the following:
This role offers the opportunity to have a direct impact on how some of Arm's most advanced silicon is developed. You'll have considerable scope to shape our software and methodology, while working with experienced silicon engineers across Solutions Engineering and developing deeper knowledge of VLSI and chip implementation. Our UK methodology team values technical autonomy, continuous improvement and giving engineers the space to solve difficult problems well.
We value strong software engineering and curiosity over an exact match to every desirable skill. Candidates interested in the role should consider applying even if they don't meet every item listed above.
