Job summary

MBDA in Stevenage, United Kingdom, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and develop test equipment software for world‑leading missile systems. The role supports a hybrid pattern, with on‑site work common due to workload, and requires British citizenship or dual UK nationality for BPSS clearance after offer.

You will write C/C++ software, work in an agile environment, and contribute to automation, CI, and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Previous software engineering experience in the development of test solutions.
• Strong ability to write software in C/C++; scripting languages would be an advantage to our future direction.
• Previous experience working in an agile development team.
• A strong understanding of what is required to create high quality software and the ability to support quality practices.
• A good understanding of automation, continuous integration and DevOps principles and practices.
• Knowledge of electronics measurement and debug techniques using equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analysers.

Job description

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and take our technology and your career into new territories! MBDA is a great a place to learn about the company's entire product portfolio, whilst embracing the change to DevOps and other innovative technologies!

Salary: £40,000-£75,000 depending on experience

Location: Stevenage (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: Typically for this role you will work 3-5 days per week on-site due to workload classification.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.
