Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers Limited in Southampton is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a hybrid role on a 3-month contract. You will develop C++ and lower-level firmware interfaces, design cross-platform Windows/Linux applications, and contribute to machine-to-machine interfaces under strict security constraints.

You will work with microservices and containerisation, implement test frameworks, and participate in iterative development lifecycles using Jira/Git/DevOps.

Qualifications

• C++ or relevant object-oriented software development.
• Familiarity with Electronics and lower-level firmware.
• Using and generating documentation to create interfaces machine to machine.
• Test frameworks and test development.
• Microservices architecture/containerisation.
• Development of new applications to meet user expectations and within formal constraints. (HMI/GUI/UX experience needed.)
• Familiarity with the tools and approaches to interface with hardware.
• Experience with developing Windows & Linux applications.
• Experience of using Iterative development lifecycles (for example, tailored Agile.)
• Experience using tools associated with Iterative development lifecycles (Jira / DevOps / Git).
• Familiarity with development to design and coding standards.

Senior Software Engineer

Southampton (Hybrid working)

Contract - 3 months

Paying up to £63.50p/h (Inside IR35)

Please note that due to the nature of the work, you will need to hold a high level of UK security clearance.

Essential Skills and Experience

• C++ or relevant object-oriented software development
