Role Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Python and Django to join our team here at Car Buddy Chat. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of backend development, database systems, cloud infrastructure, and system scalability. You’ll play a key role in building, optimizing, and scaling our backend systems

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on integrating and adding new features to our core AI-driven product
• Balance code quality and technical debt with the need to move fast in a startup environment
• Evaluate, learn, and integrate new tools, technologies, and approaches to improve the system
• Participate in system architecture discussions, bringing scalability and reliability considerations
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code with a focus on long-term maintainability
• Collaborate with the frontend team ( React.js ), if and when required.
• Continuously mentor and support junior engineers on the team

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience building backend systems with Python and Django
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL , including database modeling , aggregations for reporting , and advanced SQL concepts
• Solid experience with Nginx , EC2 , and general AWS infrastructure
• Proven experience architecting and building scalable web applications
• Working knowledge of AWS services including Lambda, Glue, Step Functions
• Exposure to AI tools, LLMs, or prompt engineering (preferred but not mandatory)
• Experience integrating Python backends with React.js frontends
• Excellent problem-solving skills, curiosity, and eagerness to learn
• Self-starter mindset with a proactive, can-do attitude
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Good knowledge on Docker and CICD

Nice to Have:

• Experience in fast-paced start-ups or product environments
• Interest or experience in generative AI or AI product development
