Synergize Consulting Ltd is seeking a Software Engineer with aerospace, aircraft or flight systems experience to join a major Defence prime on a MOD programme.

You will develop and integrate software for safety- and mission-critical aerospace environments, contributing to AI and autonomous drone initiatives.

Based in Berkshire with 2–3 days on-site, the role is a mid-term contract inside IR35, rate up to £80 per hour and requires current UK security clearance.

Software Engineer – Aerospace / Aircraft Systems

Location: Berkshire 2–3 days per week on-site

Rate: Up to £80 per hour

IR35: Inside IR35

Clearance: Current, active UK security clearance essential

Are you an experienced Software Engineer with a background in aerospace, aviation, aircraft or flight systems?

The role

You’ll bring your software engineering expertise to a technically challenging programme, contributing to the development and integration of software within sophisticated aerospace or defence engineering environments.

We’re particularly interested in professionals who understand the demands of complex, safety-critical or mission-critical systems and can apply their experience to innovative engineering programmes.

What we’re looking for

• **SECURITY CLEARED** SC Software Engineers with proven software engineering experience within the aerospace, aircraft, aviation or flight systems industries, or a closely related engineering environment.
• Experience working with complex software systems, ideally within safety-critical or mission-critical applications.
• A strong understanding of software engineering principles and structured development processes.
• The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• An interest in emerging technologies, including AI, autonomous systems and advanced aerospace capabilities.
