Job summary

Car Finance 247 is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer with a backend-leaning focus to build APIs and services using Node, SQL databases, and AI-enhanced workflows. You’ll work on the ArcaneAI CRM platform, scale systems on Cloudflare’s platform, and shape architecture from day one.

You should be comfortable delivering end-to-end features, owning code quality, testing, and collaborative design in a fast-paced SaaS setting near Manchester.

About The Role

A Senior Full Stack Developer at Car Finance 247 is a passionate, backend-leaning technologist with a strong interest in modern web technologies and best practices. You’ll have advanced experience with Vue 3 and its associated ecosystem, TypeScript, and Node, and be comfortable working with SQL – and because we use generative AI to design and maintain much of the UI, your deepest work will be on the server side.

This role is ideal for a senior engineer who enjoys owning their work end-to-end, from shaping solutions and making architectural decisions through to delivery and ongoing improvement. You’re a self-starter, equally effective working independently or as part of the team. You care deeply about code quality, performance, and maintainability, and you’re motivated by building things the right way, not just the fastest way. You’ll thrive in an environment that values clear thinking, thoughtful collaboration, and meaningful outcomes over simply shipping tickets.

You’ll be building ArcaneAI, our CRM SaaS platform, from the ground up – designing and building APIs and services in Node, modelling data in SQL, and shipping features end to end. We build on the Cloudflare developer platform (Workers, Pages, D1, KV, and Queues), so experience there is ideal, though a background in other cloud architecture such as Azure works just as well. There’s a strong emphasis on clean architecture, automated testing, and continuous delivery, with plenty of opportunity to influence technical direction from day one.

Our Software Engineers don’t just write code – they actively shape the features and platforms they work on. From initial concept through to production, you’ll take ownership of your work, contributing to design, architecture, and delivery to create meaningful, high-quality solutions.

Planning and design

• Participate in collaborative planning sessions, helping to clarify and elaborate requirements.
• Contribute to the design and architecture of innovative, scalable solutions.
• Use generative AI to design, build, and maintain UI, keeping your deepest focus on solid back-end foundations.
• Ensure both front-end and back-end systems are designed with scalability, performance, and maintainability in mind.

Writing code

• Develop new features and enhancements across our platforms.
• Build and evolve the ArcaneAI CRM platform from the ground up.
• Design and build APIs and services in Node, backed by well-modelled SQL data.
• Make AI tools and copilots part of everyday development, helping the team build faster without compromising on quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, including bug fixes and performance improvements.

Code Reviews and Collaboration:

• Conduct thorough code reviews and actively participate in peer review processes.
• Share knowledge, skills, and best practices with the team to raise overall code quality.

Managing releases:

• Take code changes from inception through to deployment, ensuring a smooth release process.
• Maintain and improve our CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable delivery.
• Ensure all code changes are thoroughly tested and perform reliably in production.

About You

Essential:

• Advanced experience with Vue 3 and its associated ecosystem, including Pinia for state management.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.
• Experience designing and building APIs and back-end services.
• A working knowledge of SQL and relational data modelling.
• Experience writing and maintaining unit, integration, and functional tests using Vitest or similar.
• An AI-first mindset – genuine enthusiasm for using generative AI to supercharge development, including designing and maintaining UI.
• A self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with Git for version control.
• Awareness of SOLID principles and clean coding best practices.
• Ability to problem-solve creatively, focusing on delivering high-quality outcomes efficiently.

Desirable:

• Experience building scalable SaaS platforms.
• Familiarity with component-driven design and Vue 3 Composition API patterns.
• Experience with CRM or similar business-critical, data-driven products.
• Experience integrating generative AI services into production products.
• Skilled in performance optimisation and improving UX at scale.
• Knowledge of partner-ready or multi-tenant platforms with customisable features.
• Experience with the Cloudflare developer platform (Workers, Pages, D1, KV, and Queues) – other cloud architecture such as Azure works too.
• Comfortable with CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and pragmatic documentation.
