About The Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us scale our work to build and scale our category-defining Platform Orchestrator. As a Software Engineer, you will share ownership of how our products are built and evolve, contributing to both our short-term deliverables and long-term vision.

We work across a modern, diverse stack, including:

• Microservices (APIs) written in Go, running on Kubernetes
• Tests written in Go, Robot Framework, and more
• Web apps and VSCode extensions built with React and TypeScript
• CLI written in Go
• Emerging areas, including chat-based interfaces built on third-party LLMs

To thrive in this role, you must be comfortable with start-up life: shipping constantly, debugging customer issues, working on an evolving roadmap, and contributing across our stack with a focus on impact.

Humanitec is an all-remote company. Our small teams work closely to do big things. This is a fully remote position. Preferred time zones are UTC-1 to UTC+3.

What You Will Bring:

• Excellent communication & collaboration skills in a fully remote environment, using tools like GitHub, Notion, Slack, Jira. You own your work end-to-end.
• Strong problem-solving and coding skills, with a focus on designing solutions for customer problems.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure, observability tools, and understanding incident factors.
• Pragmatism: balancing perfection with practicality.
• Modern cloud experience: building and running apps on Kubernetes in AWS, GCP, or Azure, familiar with Docker, Terraform/OpenTofu, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Bias to action: thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, taking initiative, and valuing progress over perfection.

What You Will Do:

• Contribute to our core product, primarily in Go, working on services that power our applications.
• Design and refine technical systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and elegance.
• Collaborate across disciplines to explore problems, prototype, and iterate.
• Help improve our engineering practices with thoughtful abstractions, clean interfaces, and solid testing.
