Job summary

Cisco is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Webex Real-time Media Engineering Group in Central London. You will contribute to core video and audio workflows, shaping Webex Meetings, Webex Calling, and Webex Contact Center in a hybrid environment.

You will own features from design to delivery, work in a Linux and containerized stack, and use AI tools to improve productivity and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths or Physics.
• 10+ years of professional programming in C++/C#.
• Experience with Linux development and Linux environments.
• Experience with virtualization and containers, including Docker.

Our Webex Real‑time Media Engineering Group is redefining the future of collaboration. We're building a world where people connect effortlessly across devices and locations, powering Webex Meetings, Webex Calling, and Webex Contact Center.

Location: Central London office near Liverpool Street station. We operate a hybrid model with in‑office collaboration three times a week.

Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in an analytical subject (Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Physics).
• 10+ years of professional programming experience in C++/C# and willingness to learn new languages.
• Experience with Linux development and running software on Linux.
• Experience with virtualisation and containers, including Docker.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Windows development.
• Experience with data science / AI.
• Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP).
• Exposure to cryptography.
• Familiarity with audio and video coding (e.g., Opus, H.264).
• Familiarity with Git, DevOps, continuous integration, continuous delivery.
