Our platform, Toffee

is an engineering design tool that automatically creates mechanical component designs for engineering. It leverages a combination of generative design techniques to design components that outperform their existing counterparts.

Working closely with our clients, including some of the biggest players in aerospace, automotive, energy transition, and more, we revolutionize the user experience and automation in engineering software. We also design our architecture to meet industry-leading standards of reliability and security, essential for highly sensitive projects.

The position:

In this role, you will work closely with software engineers and scientists on our cloud platform, used to create designs for cutting-edge applications ranging from supersonic aircraft to microprocessors and from Formula 1 cars to coffee pots.

• You will join a small, empowered software engineering team and contribute to all aspects of the design and architecture.
• You will be involved in extending and evolving our cloud platform, working in a collaborative, continuous delivery environment.
• You will have the opportunity to propose and lead new projects through all stages of the engineering cycle.

We primarily look for flexible engineers who will fit well into our growing team. The following experience and skills will be useful for the role, along with a willingness to develop in other areas as needs arise:

• Customer-focused, able to translate complex domain concepts into compelling products and learn from feedback.
• Comfortable communicating clearly and collaborating within a team-based environment to resolve a wide range of business and technical challenges.
• 8+ years of experience working on commercial software projects. Familiarity with some or all of the following tech stack is preferred: Python, ReactJS, Typescript, microservices, serverless, AWS.
• Experience with or interest in continuous delivery and related good practices.
• Degree in computer science or a related field.
• Willing to work 4 days a week on-site at our London, UK office.
