Linnworks seeks a Senior Software Engineer to deliver high-impact features in our SaaS platform. You will collaborate with the Engineering Team Lead and QA, mentor peers, and contribute to sound technical decisions while aligning with architecture and standards.

This role emphasizes delivering complex, well-tested solutions, improving performance, and collaborating with Product. It is Remote-friendly across the UK/Estonia/US regions, with hybrid options in London or Chichester.

Senior Software Engineer

Reports to: Engineering Team Lead

Works closely with: Engineering Tech Lead, QA team members

Software: C#

Location: UK / Estonia / US (remote-friendly within these regions)

Role purpose

The Senior Software Engineer is a high-impact individual contributor who delivers complex work and raises the effectiveness of the team around them.

This role exists to tackle technically challenging problems, support less experienced engineers, and contribute to sound technical decisions — all while remaining aligned with agreed architecture and standards.

Experience and capabilities

• Strong experience as a software engineer in a production SaaS environment

• Proven ability to deliver complex, high-quality solutions

• Strong understanding of testing, performance, and maintainability

• Ability to mentor others and influence through example

• Sound technical judgement under pressure

What You'll Bring To The Role

Key responsibilities

Technical delivery

• Design and implement complex features and improvements

• Take ownership of technically significant or high-risk work

• Ensure solutions are maintainable, testable, and well understood

• Help diagnose and resolve complex production issues

Technical leadership (within the team)

• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level engineers

• Contribute strongly to code reviews and design discussions

• Support the Engineering Tech Lead in maintaining technical quality

• Identify technical risks and raise them early

Collaboration and quality

• Work closely with QA to ensure confidence in delivered changes

• Engage constructively with Product and other stakeholders as needed

• Balance pragmatism with long-term thinking

• This is not a formal people management role

• This is not ownership of cross-team architecture

• This is not a substitute for a Tech Lead or Principal Engineer
