Overview

We are scaling out a new AI team at 1Password, and we are looking for a Senior Developer to join us. This is a unique opportunity to define innovative ideas, shape our technical direction, and contribute to the execution of greenfield projects in the rapidly evolving field of AI. The Security for AI team is setting the standard for how AI and agentic workflows are secured, focusing on access management for AI agents and ensuring credentials are kept secure. We work across client-side and system-level logic to back-end systems, and you will bring a breadth of experience to quickly jump into new tech stacks and domains to help create and shape new products and features for this emerging market.

You will work in close partnership with our product, marketing, and partnerships teams to refine our roadmap and collaborate with key players to expand our reach and achieve our objectives. This is a remote opportunity within the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the team’s technical direction, vision, and strategy in collaboration with other leaders.
  • Drive project delivery and technical decision-making, influencing project success and course-correcting as necessary.
  • Write code and solve complex technical problems both directly and through others.
  • Inspire and mentor junior and intermediate developers to grow and deliver high impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to achieve business outcomes on schedule.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • Comfort stepping into new problem spaces and unfamiliar domains with a track record of quickly building expertise through curiosity, adaptability, and continuous learning.
  • Strong foundation in security fundamentals and authentication/authorization flows.
  • Experience collaborating across product and security teams to design secure workflows.
Bonus points if you have
  • Proficiency in Golang or Rust.
  • Experience with system-level APIs.
  • Hands-on work with identity and access management protocols (e.g. OAuth, OIDC).
  • Familiarity with MCP servers and/or Computer Use tools.
  • Experience with HTTP proxies and gateways.
