Job summary

Metropolitan Police Service is seeking a Senior Software Developer to drive development of Counter Terrorism Policing systems. You will lead design and coding within a DevSecOps team, applying agile practices and ensuring secure, well-architected software.

The role offers flexible home-working with a London or Birmingham office option. You will mentor peers, deliver reusable components, and collaborate across product, design and QA to meet project goals while upholding coding standards and

Qualifications

Experience in software application development and coding skills, preferably in an Agile DevSecOps environment.
Proficiency in modern programming languages such as .NET, Angular or TypeScript.
Working knowledge of containers - Docker / Kubernetes / Helm.
Database skills in modern RDBMS such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server or MySQL.
Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Write clean, secure code following a test-driven approach.
Create reusable code libraries to drive efficiency across the team.
Collaborate with product managers, designers and QA to define requirements and deliverables.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and automate where possible.
Mentor other developers and provide technical leadership across the SDLC.
Lead in a DevSecOps environment with a strong Agile mindset.
