Who we are looking for
As a Senior Software Developer, you will develop, enhance and support our product offering, including bet placement, cash out, editing of bets, settlements and customer balance updates.
The Core Systems team plays a vital role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our platform, by managing the software that is responsible for many critical features. By leveraging a Linux operating system and open-source technologies, the team utilise programming languages that can effectively scale and accommodate the high volume of transactions across the platform.
You will develop a team of technical professionals, developing innovative solutions and taking ownership of code and system delivery in a challenging, and fast paced environment. This role offers the opportunities to explore new technologies and be at the forefront of our platform development.
This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.
Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience
• Experience of server-side development, such as services, systems, messaging and middleware.
• Familiar with functional programming, such as Erlang, Haskell, F#, Scala or Go.
• Experience working with distributed systems.
• Good understanding of complex event processes and continuous query languages.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Excellent communication and team working skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related subject, or relevant industry experience.
Main Responsibilities
• Developing low latency, highly available and scalable solutions.
• Working on Linux and GNU utilities.
• Supporting and enhancing the existing code base.
• Identifying technical areas of improvement.
• Supporting and developing a team of software developers.
• Contributing to solution proposals as required.
• Creating work effort estimates.
