Job summary

KO2 Embedded Recruitment Solutions Ltd seeks a software architect to own the technical vision for two global product platforms at a Royston site. You will determine what to share, merge, or differentiate across architectures, and set the direction for the next generation of the software ecosystem.

You will lead cross-country teams, act as a technical authority, and align software with business differentiation while addressing safety, security, and integration with embedded hardware.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial development background in C, C++ and C#, with exposure to Python, .NET, Java or SQL welcome.
• Experience architecting software that controls physical hardware and interacts with electronics, sensors and mechanics.
• Demonstrable experience as a software architect or technical authority within a complex, multi-site organisation.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical vision and roadmap for the next generation software platform across two brands.
• Map and consolidate two mature architectures, identifying shared and divergent components.
• Design layered architectures enabling multiple teams in several countries to iterate quickly and safely.
• Produce high-level system architectures and product specifications for robust, scalable, and secure solutions.
• Line manage a UK team of engineers and oversee the German team under your remit over time.
• Serve as the technical bridge into Asia-based R&D for AI-driven feature development.
