Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment Limited is seeking a Senior Software Architect for an AI-led development program. You will own architectural direction for a cloud platform built with C# and .NET, applying AI tools across design, development and testing, and collaborating with engineering and product teams to set technical direction.

The role offers hybrid working with two office days per week in Southampton, near Eastleigh, Fareham and Whiteley. Applicants should be eligible for UK Security Clearance.

Senior Software Architect - AI-led Development

We're currently recruiting Senior & Lead Software Architects for an established technology business transforming its software platform through AI-led design and development.

This is an opportunity to own architectural direction and help shape how AI is used throughout software delivery, from initial design through implementation, testing and validation.

The core technology stack is C# and .NET, although the business is open to architects with transferable experience. Strong architectural judgement and practical use of AI matter more than an exact technology match.

Role responsibilities

• Own architecture and design decisions for a complex cloud platform.
• Guide the development of secure, scalable and maintainable software.
• Apply AI tools across design, development and testing, critically reviewing their outputs.
• Work closely with engineering and product teams, sharing knowledge and setting technical direction.

About you

You'll be an experienced Software Architect with a strong software engineering background and experience designing cloud applications. You already use AI tools in your day-to-day work and can explain where they add value and where human judgement remains essential. You don't need to be an AI specialist or hold formal AI qualifications. This is a hands-on individual contributor role, with opportunities at Senior or Lead Architect level depending on experience.
