Job Introduction

Are you passionate about inspiring excellent social work practice? Do you want to join a dedicated team working with adults with learning disabilities? This is an exciting opportunity for two permanent Senior Social Workers within the Specialist Community Disability Team’s 25+ Pod, focusing on adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.

The team provides a range of social work services, including Duty and Intake, Care Act Assessments, reviews, and support for Direct Payments and Personal Budgets. You should have a broad understanding of these areas and support staff in conducting proportionate and timely assessments to meet adults' outcomes.

Safeguarding is our top priority, and supporting decision-making through the Mental Capacity Act, Best Interests, Court of Protection applications, and Deprivation of Liberty Orders are key aspects of the role.

You will supervise both experienced and newer social workers, support complex case management, and contribute to the Duty and Intake service rota. You will manage your own small caseload with supervision support and develop your knowledge in disabilities and specialist practice areas.

We encourage professional development through memberships, training, qualifications, and involvement in innovative projects, including working with parents with learning disabilities, inclusion, access, and prevention of self-neglect.

Application process involves completing education and work history and answering shortlisting questions, which are crucial for selection. Please review the guidance on our website to enhance your application.

Additional Information

Your salary will be pro-rata if less than 37 hours or part-time. The role supports a hybrid working pattern, combining office and home working, with arrangements tailored to individual and team needs.

This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires a DBS check.

We value diversity and are committed to inclusive recruitment, encouraging applications from all backgrounds, especially from BME, White Other, disabled, male, or trans individuals.
