Norfolk County Council is seeking a Senior Social Worker for the Kinship Assessment Team on a temporary contract. Senior Social Worker - Kinship Assessment Team | 8173 | secondment opportunity/temporary contract to cover maternity leave for 12 months | 37 hours per week | £42,463 to £46,732 per annum | Grade K | Countywide
We are pleased to offer a secondment opportunity for a Senior Social Worker within the Kinship Assessment Team.
Our team operates across Norfolk, specializing in assessing family members and connected persons to become Foster Carers and/or Special Guardians for children unable to live with their parents.
We collaborate closely with frontline teams, nplaw, and the Norfolk Fostering Service to conduct initial viability assessments, as well as assessments for Special Guardianship and connected persons fostering, providing recommendations to the Court and Fostering Panel.
As a busy team, strong planning and personal organization skills are essential. Applicants should be flexible and willing to travel across Norfolk and beyond as required.
Experience in writing assessments within a safeguarding context and knowledge of care proceedings are crucial, as most work is Court-driven.
Our work is vital to care planning for children. We work creatively and supportively with Kinship Carers to secure safe family placements that are in the children’s best interests.
