Job summary

Suffolk County Council is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join the Countywide Forensic Mental Health Team within Adult Social Care on a permanent basis. You will manage a complex caseload, provide specialist advice, and work with partners across NHS and the justice system to improve outcomes for adults with complex needs.

Qualifications

• Significant social work experience with complex cases.
• Ability to mentor newly qualified and experienced colleagues.
• Strong understanding of legislation, regulations and professional guidance.

Responsibilities

• Undertake statutory Social Supervision for adults subject to conditional discharge in the community.
• Complete Care Act assessments for adults involved with the criminal justice system.
• Work with partners including Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, MAPPA and the Ministry of Justice.
• Contribute to risk management and pathways from inpatient to community care.
