Job summary

Pro Social Partners are recruiting for a Senior Social Worker in Birmingham for the Family Help service. This permanent role involves holding complex caseloads across Child in Need and Child Protection, completing assessments, and working with families and multi-agency teams to reduce risk.

Application requires recognised Social Work qualification and SW England registration, with substantial post-qualifying experience in safeguarding. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
• Substantial post-qualifying experience in Children's Social Care, safeguarding or child protection.
• Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage complex, high-risk cases with a calm, child-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Hold a caseload of more complex work and act as a source of practice expertise for the team.
• Support, mentor and co-work with newly qualified and less experienced colleagues.
• Hold a caseload of children and families within the Family Help service, working across Child in Need and Child Protection.
• Complete high-quality assessments, plans and reports within statutory timescales.
• Work in partnership with families and multi-agency professionals to reduce risk and create lasting change.
• Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, child protection conferences and core groups.
• Ensure the voice of the child is central to all assessments and planning.
