Job summary

Wrexham Council is seeking an experienced social worker to manage a caseload, including high-risk cases, and to provide professional social work services to adults and children in need of care and support. The role involves assessments, plan development, and coordination with external providers within budget, while promoting positive outcomes.

The post holder will supervise students and newly qualified social workers, attend court as required, and specialise in two major areas such as DoLS/AMHP

Qualifications

• Social Work Degree or equivalent qualification.
• Masters in Social Work or equivalent.
• Registration with Social Care Wales.
• Two Specialist Awards (e.g. DOLS/AMHP/BIA) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert social work services to adults/children via outcome-focused assessments.
• Lead and chair care & safeguarding meetings and court-related work.
• Supervise and mentor social work students and newly qualified staff.
• Develop care and support plans and coordinate with agencies.
• Maintain confidential records and comply with GDPR.
• Adapt to agile modern working practices.
