St Helens MBC is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join the Children with Disabilities team, delivering high-quality social work services to children and young people with disabilities and their families, safeguarding, wellbeing and development.

You will manage complex cases, mentor colleagues, lead multi-agency meetings, undertake statutory assessments, and prepare reports for court and reviews, ensuring the child's voice remains central throughout.

Responsabilidades

• Manage a caseload of complex children with disabilities cases, including safeguarding, child protection, children in need, looked-after children, and court proceedings.
• Undertake statutory assessments under relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and Care Act where appropriate during transition planning.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and review child-centred care and support plans.
• Complete specialist assessments relating to disability, parenting capacity, risk, and family functioning.
• Lead multi-agency meetings, child protection conferences, core groups, and professionals' meetings.
• Work collaboratively with education, health, housing, and voluntary sector partners.
• Ensure the child's voice is central to assessment and planning.
• Support children through transitions into adulthood alongside Adult Social Care services.
• Prepare high-quality reports for court, Child Protection Conferences, and statutory reviews.
• Respond effectively to safeguarding concerns and undertake Section 47 enquiries where required.
• Maintain accurate and timely case recordings using electronic recording systems.
