The following is essential criteria:

We’re looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and committed professional part-time social worker to join one of our four Assessment Teams. Co-located with the police at Wombwell Police Station, the Assessment Teams complete assessments with children and families within 40 working days and collaboratively determine the right intervention.

Once the plan has been agreed, the family will either close to Children’s Social Care or transfer to the relevant service area, such as Early Help services or long-term social work teams. The four teams operate on a rota: one week on duty and three weeks off duty, during which assessments are completed and intervention plans are developed.

This is a short-term service focusing on timely, quality assessments that consider need and risk.

The current workplace is split between Westgate Plaza One and Worsborough Health Centre, with a planned move to Wombwell Police Station in August 2024.

Working pattern:

• Hybrid working – minimum 3 days in the office per week; on duty weeks require 5 days per week.
