In this role, you will play a pivotal part in improving the outcomes and life chances of children in care. Your expertise will help shape care plans, support transitions, and ensure that every child receives the stability, support, and opportunities they deserve.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a diverse caseload of children in care, including those in long-term foster placements, residential settings, and those preparing for independence.
  • Conduct statutory visits, assessments, and reviews in line with current legislation, statutory guidance, and local protocols.
  • Lead and manage complex cases, ensuring care and permanency planning are implemented in the best interests of the child.
  • Provide mentoring and professional guidance to less experienced colleagues, supporting their development and promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Work collaboratively with children, families, carers, and multi-agency professionals to deliver outcome-focused, person-centred services.
  • Prepare comprehensive, evidence-based reports for court proceedings and represent the local authority in legal contexts when required.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and reflective case records in accordance with organisational requirements.
  • Contribute to service development by identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting the implementation of best practice initiatives.
