Job summary

Lewisham Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Risk Outside the Home (ROTH) Team. You will lead safeguarding for adolescents exposed to exploitation and contextual safeguarding concerns, working with families, schools, police and health partners in a joined-up approach.

The role offers hybrid working from the Old Town Hall, Rushey Green, balancing office and home-based duties, with generous training and benefits.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with 3+ years post-qualification experience (Social Work England registered).
• Strong understanding of adolescent development and contextual safeguarding.
• Knowledge of exploitation, youth violence, and trauma-informed practice.

Responsibilities

• Hold and manage a caseload of adolescent safeguarding cases.
• Lead assessments, interventions and planning for youths facing extra-familial harm.
• Build trusted, trauma-informed relationships with young people and families.
• Chair multi-agency meetings and contribute to professional networks.
• Collaborate with police, education, health, and community partners to deliver safety planning.
