Job summary

Cambridgeshire County Council's Adolescent Service is seeking a Senior Practitioner to support young people across Cambridge City, South Cambridgeshire and East Cambridgeshire. The role manages a small caseload with safeguarding focus outside the home.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
• Substantial experience in statutory children's social work.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of CIN, CP and CiC practice.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking Child and Family Assessments.
• Managing Child in Need, Child Protection and Children in Care cases.
• Completing direct work with young people and their families.
• Visiting children in their homes and local communities.
• Attending multi-agency meetings and contributing to safeguarding plans.
• Mentoring and coaching less experienced colleagues.
• Deputising for the Team Manager when required.
• Playing a key role in Families First reforms.
