About The Role

We are looking for Senior Social Workers for a 7-bedroomResidential Family Assessment Centre in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire. This will be a busy and challenging role and therefore you will have commitment and dedication to providing high quality support to family and staff in line with OFSTED regulations. You will also be required to have excellent safeguarding standards and a strong ethos of providing effective support to families to achieve positive outcomes.

As a Senior Social Worker, in conjunction with other team members and professionals, you will have the overall responsibility of assessing, observing, supporting, and monitoring allocated families. Where you will complete a comprehensive Parenting Capacity assessment.

You will report to the Registered Manager/Deputy Manager, as well as the Advanced Practitioner, who you will be supervised by. You will also have responsibility for the progression and quality of all the final parenting capacity assessments that are submitted to the local authorities.

You may also be required to support covering the on call provision.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Requirements:

  • A Social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
  • A minimum of 3 years post qualifying experience
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding, assessment, and risk management and established experience of completing parenting capacity and holistic whole family assessments.
  • Experience of partnership working with families and external agencies, preferably in a Safeguarding or Looked after Children's Teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in complex or challenging situations with families.
  • Must be prepared to be flexible across evenings and weekends, according to the needs of the service.

Preferable Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience of Parenting Assessment Manual (PAM's) or ParentAssess approach for assessing parents.
