Your role with us
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS):
Our CAMHS is a Trauma Informed Care Service, emphasizing understanding how trauma impacts the physical, mental, and social aspects of individuals. We provide low inpatient CAMHS services aimed at enabling young people to live well and reach their full potential in the least restrictive environment.
Our CAMHS caters to young people aged 13 to 18 with complex mental disorders, emotional and behavioral difficulties, intellectual disabilities, mental illnesses, and autistic spectrum disorders. We focus on person-centered care addressing mental health, functional, cognitive, emotional, social, communication, sensory, and vocational needs.
The team includes specialists in CAMHS, with all staff undergoing specialist training and further qualifications in specific areas. You will need a recognized Social Work Qualification and post-qualifying social work award, extensive experience with Mental Health and Mental Capacity Legislation, Safeguarding Adults and Children, and the ability to handle complex legal issues under pressure.
You should be willing to develop your skills further and manage a caseload that includes complex and high-risk cases. Proven supervision, communication, interpersonal skills, and high-standard report writing are essential. Leadership and supervision experience, including clinical supervision to less experienced team members, are required.
All Social Workers at St Andrew’s must be registered with Social Work England, with opportunities for training and registration support. Regular supervision, annual reviews, and development opportunities are provided.
Our patients and colleagues expect you to embody the St Andrew’s CARE values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence daily.
