Job summary

Jam is seeking a hands-on Social Media Manager in Manchester to own day-to-day planning, delivery and performance across client accounts. You’ll lead on strategy, content calendars, and paid social, while collaborating with specialists for production.

You’ll work closely with the Social Media Account Director, taking ownership of client relationships and reporting. Hybrid working with a strong focus on results and growth.

Qualifications

• Strong organic and paid social experience.
• Excellent knowledge of the major social platforms.
• Experience contributing to social strategies and turning them into activity.
• Brilliant content planning and organisational skills.
• Experience briefing creative teams.
• Confidence interpreting data and producing meaningful client reports.
• Experience managing influencer or creator activity.
• Good commercial awareness — understanding scopes, hours and budgets.
• Plenty of initiative, curiosity and ideas.
• Management or mentoring experience would be a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Plan BAU social activity three months ahead, with room for reactive opportunities.
• Build content calendars rooted in audience, platform and sector insights.
• Understand clients, industries, competitors and audiences.
• Know Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube inside out and track new platforms and trends.
• Write great social copy, captions and hooks.
• Brief content creators, designers and videographers with clear briefs.
• Review platform-native content and ensure it meets client goals.
• Plan and manage paid social campaigns, monitor performance and optimise.
• Manage influencer/creator activity from research to reporting.
• Oversee community management and turn audience interaction into better content.
• Own monthly reporting with actionable insights and next steps.
• Lead day-to-day client communication and provide social counsel.
