A local council in Scotland seeks a Senior Social Care Worker – Supervisor to ensure high standards of care for individuals with learning disabilities and autism. The role entails supporting individuals through person-centered approaches to enhance their independence and well-being. Candidates must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council. This is a temporary full-time position based in Lerwick, offering a competitive salary including Distant Islands Allowance.
Adult Services (Learning Disability and Autism) provide a range of high quality care and support for adults with learning disability, autistic adults and adults with complex needs with assessed need. Adult Services (LD & ASD) comprises of Supported Living and Outreach Service; Supported Vocational Activity Service (Eric Gray @ Seafield); Short Breaks and Respite Service (Newcraigielea), the Assertive Community Transition (ACT) Service (intensive support) all of which are Care Inspectorate registered services and part of Shetland Community Health and Social Care Directorate.
Adult Services (LD and ASD) use a range of best practice guidance and person centred approaches to provide support that recognises the rights of the individual to participate as meaningfully and as independently as possible.
The Senior Social Care Worker – Supervisor’s role includes ensuring that individuals receive high standards of care and support in accordance with relevant legislation and national guidance associated with the service
Senior Social Care Worker - Supervisors are responsible for providing support to individuals in a variety of settings, dependent on the post, ensuring a high standard of service delivery of support to individuals to live well through their own strengths, skills, community, personal gifts and people who play a key role in their life.
