Job description

Location: Crookston Care Home and Day Centre Sandersons Wynd Tranent, EH33 1DA

Salary: £34,126 - £38,159 per year pro rata

Contract Type: Permanent

Position Type: Part Time

Hours: 17.5 hours per week

Vacancy Information

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week). Part-time hours will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay: £18.70 - £20.91

Days and Times of Work
Early Shifts: 07:00-14:30 (30 minute unpaid break).
Late Shifts: 14:00-21:30 (30 minute unpaid break).

4 week rota pattern:
Week 1 - Thursday Late, Saturday Early, Sunday Late
Week 2 - Thursday Late, Friday Early
Week 3 - Thursday Late, Saturday Late, Sunday Early
Week 4 - Thursday Late, Friday Late

To assist in the management of the Residential Unit and contribute to the development and delivery of a high quality service to older people requiring residential care, in accordance with the values and principles of the National Care Standards, and within the policies and procedures of the Council.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Hold an SVQ Level 3 and an HNC in Social Services (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience with the PDA health & Social Care Supervision SCQF Level 7 (or equivalent supervisory qualification which meets the professional registration requirements of SSSC or hold an SVQ Level 3 and a commitment to achieve an HNC in Social Services and the PDA Health and Social Care Supervision SCQF Level 7 (or equivalent) in the first period of registration to meet the SSSC Registration requirements.

PVG Membership
This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
