Job summary

Graphcore is seeking a highly motivated SoC Architect to lead architectural specification, modelling and integration of high-performance silicon for AI acceleration. You will collaborate across architecture, silicon design, verification, hardware and software teams to deliver next-generation AI compute platforms.

Reporting to the Silicon Architecture leadership, you will shape sub-system specifications, drive validation, and contribute to silicon bring-up, ensuring robust integration with

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or related subject.
• Solid understanding of computer/SoC architecture.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with RTL development and verification processes.
• Be highly motivated, a self-starter, and a team player.
• Ability to work across teams and programming languages.

Responsibilities

• Distill product requirements and their effects on SoC design trade-offs.
• Collaborate with processor, SoC and system architects to determine optimal solutions.
• Understand how to collaborate with silicon design, verification, and hardware teams to demonstrate correctness.
• Evaluate potential hard and soft third-party IP and liaise with IP vendors.
• Design and specification of performant SoC sub-systems and their integrations.
• Contribute to silicon bring-up, characterization and evaluation activities as required.
• Mentor Engineers with technical queries.

The Team

The Silicon Architecture Teamsits within theCOOgroup.The SoC architectsareresponsible forthe architectural specification,integration,modelling,validationand evaluationofnumerouscriticalsub-systems,including high-speed interfacesforourupcomingAI acceleration platforms.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Distillingproductrequirementsand their effects on SoC/platform design trade-offs
• Collaboratingwithprocessor, SoC and systemarchitectstodetermineoptimalsolutions
• Understanding of how tocollaborate with silicon design,verification,and hardwareengineersto demonstrateawareness andoptions forimplementationcorrectness
• Evaluating potentialhard and softthird-partyIPand liaising withthird party IP vendors
• Design and specification ofperformantSoC sub-systemsand their associated integrations
• Contribute to the silicon bring-up,characterisationand evaluationactivities asrequired
• Silicon Architecture Team representation within cross-functional working groups
• Implement improvements to infrastructure and processes
• Assistwith complex debugging activities
• Mentors Engineers with technical queries

Essential

• Degree inElectronic Engineering,ComputerScienceor related subject
• Solid understanding of computer/SoCarchitecture
• Excellent communication skills
• Good experiencein the writing of technical specifications
• Knowledge of RTL development and verification processes
• Be highly motivated, aself-starter, and a team player
• Ability to work across teams and programming languages

Desirable

• Experiencein thetechnicalspecification of complexsiliconSoC devices
• Experience ofmachine learning ormassively parallel computing systems
• Verilog
• Low-level softwareexperience, embedded C
• Knowledge of one or more of DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, on-chip networks
