Job summary

Surrey and Sussex Police is seeking a Senior Security Operations Centre Analyst to safeguard our digital infrastructure and protect public safety. You will lead monitoring, analysis and response to security incidents, and perform security assessments of networks, systems and devices.

Qualifications

• Proven IT security experience across infrastructure, networks, databases and systems.
• Experience scoping and conducting penetration tests; relevant NC SC certification.
• Experience with Microsoft security tooling including alerts and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills to identify vulnerabilities.
• Hands-on security incident investigation, containment, eradication and recovery.
• Clear, concise reporting and ability to communicate to stakeholders.
• Security qualifications such as CompTIA CySA+ and Microsoft SC-200.

Responsibilities

• Lead monitoring, analysis and response to security incidents across the network.
• Scoping, planning and delivering penetration tests, IT health checks and security assessments.
• Develop and maintain SOC procedures, playbooks and incident response processes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to investigate breaches, analyse and mitigate risks.
• Act as an escalation point for the SOC Analyst team.
• Stay informed on threats and adopt proactive measures to prevent breaches.
• Participate in cyber security exercises, drills and simulations.
• Assist in policy development and controls aligned with standards and regulations.
• Deputise for the IT Security Officer when required.
