Proactive Appointments is recruiting a Senior Snowflake Developer to join a major data platform modernisation programme for a banking client. You will migrate legacy SQL Server workloads to Snowflake, build cloud-based data solutions and optimise pipelines.

The role requires hands-on Snowflake, dbt and Python expertise, with strong SQL Server experience and a solid data warehousing background within a regulated financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Three+ years’ hands-on Snowflake development experience.
• dbt data modelling, transformation, testing and deployment.
• Advanced Python development for data engineering and automation.
• SQL Server experience including design, tuning and troubleshooting.
• Enterprise-scale ETL/ELT solutions delivery experience.
• Data warehousing principles, star schema and dimensional modelling knowledge.
• Data governance, quality and reconciliation understanding.
• Git-based source control and CI/CD familiarity.
• Banking or Financial Services data solutions experience.
• Strong stakeholder engagement.

Responsabilités

• Develop, enhance and optimise Snowflake data solutions during migration.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and models with dbt.
• Develop Python scripts to support data migration and automation.
• Migrate SQL Server databases, queries and procedures to Snowflake.
• Design and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines with data quality controls.
• Develop Snowflake structures and dimensional models for reporting.
• Apply Snowflake performance tuning and cost optimisation.
• Implement automated testing, source control and CI/CD for deployments.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise data architecture and governance.
• Engage stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot data issues and support migration milestones.
• Contribute to technical design decisions and mentor junior developers.
