Job summary

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust invites applications for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to co-lead the Confident Communicators Programme in Westminster and the Kensington & Chelsea schools. You will work with a specialist SLCN teacher and a team of teaching assistants, parents and school staff to help children access the curriculum.

Qualifications

• Degree and Licence to Practise from the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists
• Current HCPC and RCSLT registration
• Experience supporting children and families and schools with EHCPs
• Collaborative work with parents and other professionals
• Experience training others
• Experience delivering SLT provision in educational settings
• Interest in developing clinical specialism in education
• Training/supervision experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014
• Understanding of education policy
• Knowledge of national education policies
• Strong teamwork
• Conflict resolution abilities
• Concentration for assessments and clinical work

Responsibilities

• Assess, develop and implement SLT treatment for children with speech, language and communication needs.
• Analyse speech and language development across home and school to identify strategies.
• Make clinical decisions using evidence‑based practice and outcome measures.
• Formulate differential diagnoses based on assessments.
• Demonstrate clinical effectiveness with appropriate outcomes and measures.
