Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist for acute dysphagia work across Pinderfields General Hospital and Dewsbury General Hospital in Wakefield, UK. The role focuses on acute inpatient dysphagia management, with a Monday–Friday pattern and potential long days.

You will assess and treat adults, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and provide training to junior staff, while contributing to high-quality patient care in a dynamic NHS environment.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and managing adult dysphagia in inpatient settings.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and train junior staff.
• NHS experience desirable; maternity cover role.

Responsibilities

• Assess, manage and treat adults with dysphagia in acute hospital settings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Provide expert advice and training to junior staff and students.
• Work independently to manage complex cases and demonstrate leadership.
• Maintain accurate patient records and communicate with stakeholders.
