Join us as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Oracle where you'll lead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence.

This role involves applying software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response to ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of systems, platforms, and technologies.

To succeed as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Oracle, you should have experience with:

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Internet Directory (OID), Oracle Database Performance Tuning – SME
  • Deep understanding of LDAP protocols and directory services
  • SQL Optimization
  • Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Experience setting up and maintaining monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)

Additional valued skills include:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve production incidents quickly
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration

This role will be based at our Knutsford campus.

Purpose of the role

To apply software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response to ensure system reliability, availability, and scalability.

Accountabilities

  • Ensuring availability, performance, and scalability through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning
  • Responding to system outages and disruptions, analyzing issues, and implementing preventative measures
  • Developing tools and scripts to automate operational processes, reducing manual work and improving resilience
  • Monitoring and optimizing system performance and resource usage
  • Collaborating with development teams to embed best practices for reliability and performance into software development
  • Staying updated with industry trends and contributing to organizational technology communities
