This role involves applying software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response to ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of systems, platforms, and technologies.
To succeed as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer - Oracle, you should have experience with:
- Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Internet Directory (OID), Oracle Database Performance Tuning – SME
- Deep understanding of LDAP protocols and directory services
- SQL Optimization
- Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- Experience setting up and maintaining monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
Additional valued skills include:
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Ability to diagnose and resolve production incidents quickly
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration
This role will be based at our Knutsford campus.
Purpose of the role

Accountabilities
- Ensuring availability, performance, and scalability through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning
- Responding to system outages and disruptions, analyzing issues, and implementing preventative measures
- Developing tools and scripts to automate operational processes, reducing manual work and improving resilience
- Monitoring and optimizing system performance and resource usage
- Collaborating with development teams to embed best practices for reliability and performance into software development
- Staying updated with industry trends and contributing to organizational technology communities
