Job summary

Oracle is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to monitor and optimise our cloud networking services within OCI. The role focuses on Linux troubleshooting, on-call support, and automation via Python and Bash.

You will work with the Virtual Networking team to own services, implement scalable, secure architectures, and partner with global development teams. Strong cloud networking, BGP, VPN, and telemetry dashboards are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong virtual network architecture, security, and automation knowledge.
• TCP/IP, routing concepts in Linux, IPSEC, VPNs, and BGP.
• Experience with containers and orchestration.
• Solid understanding of Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs).
• CI/CD and release automation tooling experience.
• Scripting with Python or Shell.
• Terraform and Chef for infrastructure automation.
• Leadership to drive changes based on technical analysis.
• Support network segmentation (security lists, firewalls).
• Telemetry data analysis with Grafana and MQL.
• Experience with OCI or equivalent public cloud.
• Jira and Confluence for incident tracking and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve production incidents in a 24/7 environment.
• Collaborate with Virtual Networking to own services stack and on-call support.
• Define improvements in service architecture with global development teams.
• Document incidents, changes, and SOPs using Jira and Confluence.
• Triage Severity 1/2 incidents using logs, metrics, and CLI.
• Ensure security, resiliency, performance, and scalable networking.
